en بیماری های دهان Oral & Maxillofacial Medicine گزارش مورد case report <div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><span style="line-height:150%"><b><span style="line-height:150%"><span style="color:black">Background:</span></span></b><span style="line-height:150%"><span style="color:black"> Traumatic fibroma (TF) is a common benign oral mucosal lesion caused by chronic low-grade irritation. A rare variant, Leaf-like Traumatic Fibroma (LTF), usually presents as a flattened, pedunculated mass beneath maxillary dentures. Giant LTFs, larger than 2&ndash;3 cm, are extremely rare and may mimic neoplastic lesions, creating a diagnostic challenge.</span></span></span><br> <span style="line-height:150%"><b><span style="line-height:150%"><span style="color:black">Case Report:</span></span></b><span style="line-height:150%"><span style="color:black"> This report describes a 68-year-old man with a large, asymptomatic, pedunculated mass on the hard palate. Clinical examination revealed a 3 &times; 2 &times; 1.5 cm soft, leaf-like lesion beneath an ill-fitting maxillary denture, associated with severe denture stomatitis (Newton Type III). An excisional biopsy was performed using an 810 nm diode laser, and histopathological examination confirmed fibroepithelial hyperplasia with chronic inflammation. Final treatment included complete surgical removal by laser ablation and antifungal therapy for candidal infection. Complete mucosal healing occurred without recurrence at the 3-month follow-up.</span></span></span><br> <span style="line-height:150%"><b><span style="line-height:150%"><span style="color:black">Conclusion:</span></span></b><span style="line-height:150%"><span style="color:black"> This case shows that common reactive lesions may present as large masses resembling neoplasia.
